Liability Waiver
Effective from
Every participant must accept this waiver and declaration before departure. By ticking the acceptance box at booking, or signing the form at the start of the trip, you confirm that you have read it, understood it and agree to it. A parent or legal guardian accepts it on behalf of anyone under 18.
1. Nature of the activities
Ronin Road Adventures runs trekking, motorcycle and road trips in high-altitude and remote regions, including Ladakh, Spiti, Hampta Pass, Kheerganga and the Jibhi valley, and travel abroad. These activities carry real risks that cannot be removed, including:
altitude sickness (AMS, HAPE, HACE), cold, dehydration and sunburn
falls, slips, landslides, rockfall, river crossings, snow and avalanche terrain
road accidents, mechanical breakdown and poor road conditions
weather changes, delays and route changes decided for safety
distance from hospitals; evacuation can take many hours and may be by road
illness, injury, loss of or damage to belongings, and in rare cases death
2. Assumption of risk
You take part voluntarily. You accept these risks for yourself and understand that no amount of planning or guiding makes them zero.
3. Medical declaration
You declare that, to the best of your knowledge:
You are physically and mentally fit for the trip you have booked, as described on its page (grade, altitude, daily distance)
You have told us in writing before booking about any condition that could affect you on the trip, including heart or lung conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, recent surgery, pregnancy, mental health conditions and any medication you take
You will carry your own prescribed medication for the whole trip
You are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs during any activity
If your condition changes between booking and departure, you must tell us. We may ask for a doctor's fitness certificate for high-altitude trips and may decline to take a participant we believe is unfit, in which case the Cancellation and refund policy applies.
4. Following instructions
You agree to follow the instructions of our trip leaders and guides at all times, including a decision to turn back, change the route, or send a participant down for medical reasons. A participant who ignores safety instructions or endangers others may be removed from the trip without refund, and any costs of returning them are theirs.
5. Insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trekking or motorcycling at the altitudes of your trip, medical evacuation, trip cancellation and loss of belongings. It is mandatory for international trips and for treks above 4,000 m. We will ask for your policy details before departure.
6. Release and indemnity
You release Ronin Road Adventures, its owners, employees, guides, drivers and partner operators from claims for injury, illness, loss or damage arising from the risks described above, except where caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct. You agree to indemnify us for loss we suffer because of your breach of this waiver or your own negligence.
7. Emergency consent
You authorise our trip leader to arrange first aid, medical treatment or evacuation on your behalf if you are unable to decide for yourself, and you agree to bear the cost of that treatment and evacuation (or claim it from your insurer).
8. Photos and video
We take photos and video on trips for our Instagram and website. Tell us at booking if you do not want to appear in them.
